After Holiday Magic on Ice, Dinner on an iPad Point of Sale Tablet3 min read
“Dallas’ Newest Destination for Dining and Entertainment,” Aquadora Dallas is a cross between a fine dining seafood restaurant and steak house, wrapped in “breathtaking décor,” and furnished with the latest technology, including state-of-the-art, integrated sound systems and flat-screen, high-definition televisions. The restaurant’s penchant for technology extends to the menu, which is exquisitely presented on an iPad point of sale tablet, together with detailed information on each of the locally sourced, sustainably produced ingredients. (Be sure to read yesterday’s blog post, “Party Tonight at Aquadora and Check Out Their New Restaurant POS iPad” for a look at Aquadora’s menu. It just might make you hungry. Then, open the invitation (the link is in yesterday’s blog post) and scroll to the bottom for an exclusive offer from Aquadora.)
Servers at Aquadora, like those at Scarlett Begonia, which opened in Santa Barbara’s Victoria Court in September (see our previous blog post, “iPad Point of Sale Saves Time at Fish & Co and Scarlett Begonia”), input orders directly into the iPad point of sale tablet, right at the table, without having to waste time going back and forth to a stationary POS terminal. Food and beverage orders are wirelessly transmitted to the kitchen and entered into the queue in real time — reducing waiting time for guests and freeing servers to engage with guests.
“North Dallas’ newest take on combining Upscale Dining and Nightlife” opened on Saturday, October 29, 2011, in a 6,052 square foot space at Village on the Green — a mixed-use development right next door to the upscale Galleria Dallas shopping mall in exclusive North Dallas. According to Dallas-Fort Worth food, arts, music, and events blog, Crave dfw, “Table service [at Aquadora]…comes with a twist”: servers use an iPad point of sale tablet “to entertain guests and expedite service.”
Aquadora’s opening comes just in time for all of the holiday celebrations. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Galleria Dallas is hosting a magnificent Illumination Celebration — special tree lighting ceremony of the tallest indoor tree in the United States, “choreographed to magical sounds of the season,” and a Holiday Magic on Ice spectacular which PinkMemo calls a “must-see” event, featuring live performances by “Missile Toes” – the famous ice-skating, back-flipping Santa Claus, and Olympic and National Champion figure skaters, including 1974 Olympic Gold Medalist (Women’s Figure Skating) Dorothy Hamill and 2011 US National Champion Ryan Bradley (November 25 & 26 shows only), US National Medalist and International Competitor, Amanda Dobbs, US Junior National Champion and International Champion, Jonathan Cassar, and 2011 US National Junior Pair Champions, Ashley Cain & Josh Reagan. Why not make plans now to see the Galleria’s amazing Illumination Celebration and Holiday Magic on Ice performances next Friday or Saturday evening (November 25-26), when Dorothy Hamill and Ryan Bradley take to the ice; then check out the magic of the iPad point of sale tablet next door at Aquadora, and enjoy the Holiday Course Dinner, following the ice spectacular! (We’ll have more information for you on the three-course holiday dinner special next week.) What a great way to wind up the Thanksgiving weekend and set the stage for a magical Christmas!
